Staff Singer Purpose and Responsibilities
PURPOSE
To provide a musical support structure that allows DCA to maintain a high musical standard and give professional support to the volunteer members of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- To lead in example by BEHAVIOR and PROMPTNESS during rehearsals, and in support of the director and members.
- Be sure to have all of the DIRECTOR’S MARKINGS at all rehearsals and performances.
- Develop relationship with DCA members in your sections.
- Get to know each members in your section BY NAME
- Develop an understanding of each members’ strengths & weaknesses
- Communicate with members during break or before/after rehearsals as needed
- Assist members in maintaining focus on conductor during rehearsals
ABSENCES
- Provide the director with dates of known conflicts before the start of the season.
- For conflicts that may arise during the season, please give notice BY E-MAIL as soon as possible, but at least 24 hours prior to the rehearsal.
- In the case of illness, notify the director as early as possible (including information about the potential of illness.)
